FIESTA
WILDFLOWER RIDE AND FITNESS WEEKEND
Wildflower rides: 20 Apr
08 - 8 AM
The Fiesta Wildflower Rides took place on April 20th
- 2008. The start location was
Retama
Park in Selma, TX (directly across from last
year's start location at the Verizon
Center).
The
Hill Country Sports Association was proud to present the 2008 Fiesta
Wildflower Ride. The cycling community along with San Antonio and its
many visitors had a fun family event for 2008.
Participants and spectators alike were treated to a memorable
weekend to kickoff Fiesta activities. Aproximately 1050 athletes
participated from Texas and beyond. Both young and the young at heart
joined in this fitness experience as they cycled through our scenic
hill country. Route distances ranged from 25 mi - 100 mi. Rest stops
were staged approximately every 10 miles and were fully supported
by volunteers. Roving SAG vehicles were available on all courses to
assist riders between aid stations when necessary.
The
Fiesta Wildflower Ride brought families together during this weekend
of challenging and inspiring activities.

The post Fiesta Wildflower party included a post ride meal. Massage
therapists were available from 11am to 6
pm for one $ per minute with a 10 minute
minimum. The Fiesta
Wildflower Ride provided the local
bicycling community the opportunity to come
together for a Stay-At-Home-Ride. HCSA
thanks all riders who joined the San Antonio Bicycling
Community for a great start to Fiesta and a
great start to the spring riding season.
